HUMAN SUSTAINABILITY FOR A WORLD THAT WON’T STOP CHANGING.
Work is changing faster than humans are.
AI. Automation. Burnout. Constant change. New generations. New expectations.
We’re spending a lot of time redesigning technology. I think it’s time we redesigned work for the humans inside it.
I’m Kristen DiOrio, a Future of Work + Human Sustainability strategist, speaker and longtime people leader.
I help organizations think differently about how we create cultures where people can adapt, perform, belong and stay human — especially as technology reshapes the way we work.
Because the future of work isn’t just about what technology can do. It’s about what humans need in order to thrive alongside it.
WHAT IS HUMAN SUSTAINABILITY?
We’ve spent decades talking about productivity. How much can we produce? How quickly can we move? How efficiently can we scale?
Human Sustainability asks a different question:
Can the humans inside the system keep doing this — and remain well?
It means designing workplaces where performance and human well-being aren’t competing priorities.
Where people have the clarity, trust, connection, adaptability and sense of meaning they need to navigate change.
Where technology supports human capability instead of slowly removing humanity from work.
And where we stop asking people to continually compensate for poorly designed systems.
Because sustainable organizations require sustainable humans.
SPEAKING TOPICS
HUMAN SUSTAINABILITY — Designing Work for Humans in an AI-Accelerated World
Flagship keynote. The future of work cannot simply be faster, leaner and more automated. It also has to be humanly sustainable. A provocative and hopeful look at how leaders can rethink work through the lenses of trust, adaptability, meaning and connection — and build organizations capable of performing without continually depleting their people.
NOT REPLACED. REWIRED. — The Human Skills That Matter More Because of AI
The conversation around AI usually begins with one question: What will machines be able to do? Kristen flips the question: What will humans need to become exceptionally good at? As AI absorbs more technical and transactional work, capabilities like judgment, curiosity, adaptability, creativity, empathy, discernment and relationship-building become increasingly valuable. This talk helps audiences move beyond fear of AI and toward a more useful question: How do I become more human in a world filled with machines?
THE DIFFERENTLY WIRED ADVANTAGE — What ADHD Taught Me About People, Potential and the Systems We Build
What happens when you discover at 52 that the brain you spent your entire career trying to manage was also responsible for some of your greatest strengths? Part personal story, part workplace rethink, this talk explores neurodivergence, pattern recognition, curiosity, creativity and why some of the people who struggle most inside traditional systems may see possibilities those systems desperately need. This isn’t a talk about making work easier. It’s about designing work better. For different brains. Different thinkers. And ultimately, everyone.
SCALING CULTURES — How to Grow Without Losing What Makes Your Organization Human
Culture doesn’t scale because you put your values on a wall. It scales through thousands of tiny moments: How someone is hired. How feedback is delivered. How decisions are explained. How leaders behave under pressure. How technology enters a workflow. How someone is treated when things don’t go as planned. Kristen helps audiences examine culture as a living operating system — and shows how organizations can intentionally design the behaviors, rituals and systems that reinforce who they want to become as they grow.
WORKSHOPS + CONVERSATIONS
Sometimes a keynote starts the conversation. Sometimes teams need to roll up their sleeves.
Kristen also facilitates interactive sessions for leadership teams, People organizations and teams navigating transformation.
Topics can include:
Human Sustainability by Design — Map the moments in your employee or customer experience where human interaction matters most — and determine what should remain high-touch, become human-assisted or be automated.
The Human Advantage in the Age of AI — Identify the distinctly human capabilities your organization needs to strengthen as technology changes the work.
Scaling Culture Intentionally — Translate cultural values into actual behaviors, processes and operating principles.
Future of Work Conversations — Interactive discussions designed to help teams explore change, possibility and what they want the future of their organization to feel like.
ABOUT KRISTEN
Hi, I’m Kristen.
I’m a people leader, speaker, strategist, pattern-spotter, eternal optimist and unapologetically curious human.
My career has lived largely inside Talent Acquisition and People organizations, which gave me a fascinating vantage point into work.
I’ve recruited through rapid growth. Worked alongside leaders building new teams and markets. Watched organizations scale from hundreds to thousands of employees.
And through all of it, I kept coming back to the same question:
How do we build successful organizations without losing the humans inside them?
I’m certified in Applied Positive Psychology and have spent years studying human flourishing, resilience, connection and the conditions that allow people to become more fully themselves.
Human well-being is personal. Human Sustainability is structural. We need both.
WHERE PEOPLE AND PERFORMANCE GROW TOGETHER
The future of work is still being built.
Let’s make it one humans can thrive in.
